Workshop: Implementing AutoCAD Civil 3D 101
By now you’re probably familiar with how AutoCAD® Civil 3D® can help your organization, whether public or private, increase productivity by creating better design alternatives in less time. However, you probably also recognize that implementing Civil 3D is not a trivial task. If you don’t yet have a strategy for implementing Civil 3D within your organization or if you’re looking for validation of your existing strategy, this seminar is for you.
In this seminar, Ideate’s Civil Engineers will share our best practices, derived from the lessons we’ve learned over several years, for implementing Civil 3D. After attending this session you will be able to return to your office and:
- Flowchart the organization’s existing Survey and Land Desktop design processes and incorporate the new Civil 3D workflow.
- Assess CAD users’ existing skills and develop an effective Civil 3D training plan.
- Determine whether existing hardware meets Civil 3D requirements and what customizations need to be migrated.
- Decide which method of collaboration is better suited for your organization – data shortcuts or Vault.
- Pick a pilot project based upon criteria that will result in success.
- Understand the importance of documenting your organization’s “best practices.”
- Recognize the necessity of scheduling additional mentoring and support for Civil 3D user
